Laura Marshall

I am a writer of stories, nurturer of souls, digger of dirt, speaker of truth, and political activist. Although I grew up in a family of journalists and writers, I have spent the last forty years as a clinical social worker and therapist, working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and supporting couples to build vibrant, healing relationships. As I ease into professional retirement it is an exquisite joy to delve into the craft of story -telling. My stories are about what it means for ordinary, fallible human beings to confront the challenges of their times, to reach deep to find the courage and grace to accept their load and do what must be done. I am fascinated by the humanity in the villain and the flaws in the heroic, None of us know what we would do when called and therein lies the tale.
