For The Sins We Have Committed

About

Each of us make thousands of choices every day. But not all choices are equal. Some choices, made in the crucible of the moment, send us hurtling towards consequences we never dreamed of.

Holocaust survivor Sarah Bialek has spent her life fighting hatred and genocide. When she joins one last cause, the struggle for racial justice, her past crashes into the present with terrible consequences.

As a young woman, she planned to study medicine, but her dream dies when the Germans occupy Warsaw. By the time she arrives at Auschwitz, she has lost everyone she cares about, leaving only the friendship of her fellow prisoners to keep her terror and grief at bay. When an SS guard offers her protection in exchange for sex, she grabs the proffered lifeline, not comprehending the heavy price she will pay.

Sixty years later she is the well-respected founder of the Remembrance Foundation, a leading human rights organization. When she joins forces with a coalition fighting for justice in policing, she finds herself squarely in the bullseye of local White supremacists. As the threats and violence escalate, she realizes the only way to preserve her legacy is to honestly face her past and find the courage to forgive herself and the man who saved her life so many years ago.
